The Art & Music Avant Garde - Seattle After Hours 1990-2000

The end of the 20th century was a special time in Seattle — a creative era when the city was affordable and radiating with experimental energy. An underground ecosystem of collaborative artists and producers was emerging. We founded the Tasty Shows collective during this time, when queer and straight scenes collided to spark something entirely new: a world where drag queens, DJs, and dreamers transformed dance floors into living art.

It explores Seattle’s art and music underground of the late ’80s, ’90s, and early 2000s — a time when Drag Mutation collided with Conceptual Art, Music of every genre and the early Internet.

Featuring archival photos, original poster and flyer art, and stories from the people who built one of the most inclusive, experimental, and genre-bending creative movements in the Pacific Northwest, The Art of Parties is both a love letter and a time capsule of a unique era that simply cannot be repeated.
